The Daffodil Foundation was established in June 2015 by Daffodil Care Services (incorporating Social Care Training Ireland) with a clear mission:
We focus on helping young people leaving residential care by providing needs-assessed financial assistance during their transition to independent living.
Our goal is to make this important stage of life smoother, offering support for education, employment, independent living, and access to essential services.
With a practical, caring approach, we aim to give every young person the stability, confidence, and opportunity they deserve as they take their first steps toward independence.
We provide needs-assessed financial support to young people leaving residential care, helping them take the next steps toward independence. Our key services include:
Assistance with books, stationery, school bags, printing cards, and other essential educational materials.
Funding for appropriate work clothing, LEAP card top-ups, passports, driving lessons, and other employment-related needs.
Starter kits for home essentials, furniture, electricity meter cards, and items to help young people settle into independent living.
Providing clothing, sleeping bags, toiletries, and other essentials for those accessing homeless services.
The Daffodil Foundation provides financial support of up to €350 to young people transitioning from residential care to independent living.
Applications can be submitted:
One application per person will be accepted. Each application is assessed on a needs-based approach to ensure support is practical, targeted, and effective.
Applying for the Daffodil Foundation Aftercare Award is simple and straightforward.
